SUP continues helding meetings with candidates for presidency of Ukraine
20 March 2019

We, as the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs, are positive that Ukrainian business is the main artery ensuring functioning of the country's economy. Hence, what conditions will be created by a future president for business development in Ukraine will play a crucial role.

SUP has thoroughly analysed programmes developed by presidential candidates and has initiated public meeting with them to understand who of the candidates is the most "business-oriented" one, and to ensure future cooperation. The first such event was organised in cooperation with 73 Ukrainian business associations on 04 March.

SUP finds it important for a future President to assume responsibility and announce support and subsequent work on TOP-10 business demands to the government proposed by the Union to ensure unshadowing, creation of transparent and equal conditions for business.
To that end, another meeting was held on Monday — with presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskyi, during which he declared support for several items of TOP-10 business demands to the government formulated by SUP: introduction of tax on withdrawn capital, creation of agricultural land market, and further privatisation of state-owned enterprises. The candidate's programme also includes introduction of paper-free concept in state services sphere.

"Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs is apolitical organisation non-supporting of any political parties. Our meetings with presidential candidates do not mean that we support any of them. It merely means that the Union, as a Ukrainian business lobbyist, is concerned with how future heads of the state will work on creating favourable business environment in the country and whether or not they will respect entrepreneurs' needs," says Tetiana Palamarchuk, Acting Director of SUP.

Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs will continue communicating with the candidates and political parties for protecting interests of Ukrainian entrepreneurs. We will announce future meetings publicly. However, we emphasise that such meetings are not to be regarded as support for any of the candidates/political party by members of SUP Board of Directors or Union management.
