Grand ceremony for the “Portraits of Sisterhood” award
On March 4, 2025, the Sestry.eu “Portraits of Sisterhood” Awards Ceremony will take place at the Studio Theatre in Warsaw.
Kateryna Glazkova, Executive Director of SUP, is a member of the jury that will select the winners of the “Portraits of sisterhood” award, established to honor women for their civic stance, humanity, selflessness, and support for those in need. This will be the second year the award is presented.
The jury comprises representatives from diverse fields — activists, journalists, and philanthropists from both Ukraine and Poland. They are united by their commitment to supporting Ukrainian women during the war.
The event aims to highlight women’s contribution to defending democracy in Europe and the world, to promote the idea of sisterhood, and to show that the actions of each individual are important. When two people join forces for the sake of humanitarian values, they can change the world.
The “Portraits of Sisterhood” award can be awarded to women from Poland and Ukraine whose position and actions since the beginning of russia’s aggression against Ukraine have:
- Shown an example of true sisterly solidarity and support;
- Contributed to creating an atmosphere of friendship and deepening cooperation between the Polish and Ukrainian peoples;
- Worked to foster sisterhood and build a democratic world free from tyranny;
- Defended the highest values, such as democracy, freedom of speech, and the value of human life.
These are ordinary women demonstrating extraordinary empathy, strength, and unwavering resilience.
The award aims to acknowledge the contributions of contemporary women in the struggle against tyranny and to underscore the vital role of female leadership in times of crisis.
