The meeting of the Health Committee at the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. This committee is, without exaggeration, one of the most active committees within the Union.
Participants of the committee, in collaboration with the Analytical Center of SUP, have achieved the legalization of medical cannabis in Ukraine this year (lobbying for this issue began before the full-scale invasion). A memorandum was also signed with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to cooperate on the implementation of a national system for the verification of medicinal products.
These initiatives will not only benefit the companies that are part of the Health Committee but also the entire pharmaceutical industry.
During the meeting, the following topics were discussed:
- Further steps towards mutual recognition of GMP certificates and inspection results between Ukraine and the EU under the AA/DCFTA Agreement, as well as the alignment of the Ukrainian regulatory authority with European requirements.
- Prospects for patent law reform in the field of pharmaceuticals.
- Support for healthcare reform and the development of private and insurance-based healthcare, as well as the introduction of opportunities for receiving medical guarantees from the state.
- Creating a favorable business climate for the development of the pharmaceutical industry can be achieved by joining the Committee.
