An Open Meeting of SUP’s Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development Committee Was Held
Companies are increasingly exploring different scenarios, from alternative sources of gas to international partnerships and new models for managing energy infrastructure. These solutions, preparations for the winter period, and international cooperation were discussed by participants of an open meeting of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development Committee of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs.
One of the key topics was the possibility of using LNG as a backup source of gas for businesses and critical infrastructure. Options for delivering LNG from Europe were presented, as well as for its storage and use by businesses. Some companies are already exploring this option, but its full-scale use in Ukraine requires further work on the regulatory framework and the legalization of the relevant solutions.
International opportunities for Ukrainian businesses were also discussed.
This year, the Union will have a dedicated space for its members at the ReBuild Ukraine exhibition. The event will also feature an energy pavilion, while companies will be able to use a matchmaking platform to find international partners.
For the Committee, this is an opportunity to engage with the international professional community and exchange practical experience with business associations from different countries. Within such committees, participants discuss approaches to developing specific sectors, experience in implementing projects, cooperation between businesses and governments, and possible regulatory changes.
The Committee’s further priorities were also outlined. These include developing public-private partnerships in water supply, heat supply, and other essential infrastructure systems, communicating with government authorities, and cooperating with European businesses. The Committee also plans to participate in international events focused on Ukraine’s recovery and work on new opportunities for its members. The next Committee meeting is scheduled for October 8.
