We express our sincere gratitude to the Polish business community for its clear and responsible stance regarding Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Special thanks go to our partners from the Confederation Lewiatan and our media partners Sestry for their support.
The Entrepreneurship Council in Poland has expressed concern over the decision to veto the amendment to the law regulating the status of Ukrainian citizens in Poland and has called on the authorities to address this issue responsibly.
Ukrainians who have found temporary shelter and employment in Poland play a significant role in supporting and developing the Polish economy. Their work is a vivid example of how cooperation and well-balanced policies can bring mutual benefits, fostering economic stability and growth.
Polish businesses have demonstrated a responsible and balanced approach toward Ukrainian refugees, which has become a key factor in their integration into the labor market. Thanks to this policy, today more than 1 million Ukrainians legally work in Poland, accounting for almost 6% of the entire labor force. In certain industries, such as construction, agriculture, transport, and services, their share is even higher. This significant contribution of Ukrainian workers has had a tangible economic impact.
According to Deloitte, annual budget revenues in Poland generated by Ukrainian workers exceed 15 billion zlotys, accounting for 2.7% of Poland’s GDP. The study also highlights a positive dynamic, with Poland’s GDP increasing by nearly 2% thanks to the economic activity of Ukrainians in the country. These figures provide compelling evidence of the importance of maintaining stable and predictable policies that benefit Polish companies and society, as well as Ukrainians.
For Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP), this issue holds particular importance, as we have our own office in Warsaw. Every day, we work to ensure that Ukrainian entrepreneurs and their employees, who are temporarily abroad, can develop their businesses without obstacles and feel the necessary support. SUP emphasizes that through joint efforts it is possible to create effective solutions that serve people and businesses, instead of becoming a tool for political conflicts.
