A meeting of the Ukrainian Entrepreneurs Union (SUP) Defence Committee took place, during which members approved the Committee’s strategic priorities for 2026 and elected its Chair.
SUP: Bringing Business Together to Strengthen the Defence Industry
SUP Executive Director Kateryna Hlazkova welcomed the participants. She emphasized that the creation of the Committee was a response to the need to bring together representatives of Ukraine’s defence industry and manufacturers of military and dual-use products to jointly address systemic challenges facing the sector.
“Your trust is extremely important to us. We are not a narrow sectoral association, but our many years of experience working with government authorities enables us to help businesses effectively advocate for the necessary changes. We encourage you to be active, speak openly about the challenges you face, and invite other market participants to join the Committee’s work,” Kateryna Hlazkova said.
She also highlighted the growing interest of SUP’s international partners in Ukraine’s defence sector. The Committee should therefore serve as a platform for developing international cooperation, promoting Ukrainian manufacturers in foreign markets, and establishing partnerships with international companies.
Election of the Committee Chair
During the meeting, participants briefly presented their companies, outlined the key challenges currently facing defence-sector businesses, and discussed the Committee’s future areas of work.
As part of the meeting, members elected the Chair of the SUP Defence Committee by open vote. The position was taken by Mykola Soroka, Head of GR at General Chereshnia.
We congratulate Mykola and wish him success in leading the Committee, effective implementation of the planned initiatives, new achievements, and fruitful cooperation for the development of Ukraine’s defence industry.
Strategic Priorities for 2026
During the meeting, participants unanimously approved the Committee’s strategic priorities for 2026:
- improving the Defence City framework;
- amending Resolution No. 1288 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine concerning the financing of defence industry enterprises;
- implementing the controlled export mechanism in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 875;
- developing international cooperation and supporting Ukrainian companies in entering target foreign markets in cooperation with SUP.
International Cooperation and Next Steps
Hennadii Radchenko, Head of SUP’s Analytical Centre in Warsaw, presented opportunities for developing partnerships between Ukrainian defence companies, Polish businesses, and international partners.
The Committee’s next steps include active work on practical solutions for defence-sector enterprises, expanding international cooperation, and creating conditions that will help Ukrainian manufacturers scale up and further strengthen the country’s defence capabilities.
