During the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome, a high-level roundtable was held with the participation of Yulia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine; Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement; representatives of European and Ukrainian business; as well as leading business associations, including the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP), which was represented by Executive Director Kateryna Hlazkova.
During the event, key areas for stimulating investment activity in Ukraine were reviewed, and positions were agreed upon regarding initiatives and projects to be presented at URC-2025 in the coming days. Special attention was paid to the opening of Cluster 1 within the negotiation process for Ukraine’s EU membership – a crucial stage on the path to integration into the European community.
Separately, issues of institutional capacity, business support, and attracting private capital were discussed. Specifically, the launch of a new round of the Call for Expressions of Interest was mentioned – a tool that allows Ukrainian and European companies to submit investment projects in priority sectors with a budget of €50 million and more. Applications will be accepted until October 10, 2025. This tool is a significant component of Ukraine’s economic recovery strategy.
Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized that European businesses are invited to actively participate in Ukraine’s recovery. She noted that the goal is not only to boost the economy but also to ensure that these projects are profitable for the investors themselves.
Marta Kos stressed that Ukraine is moving from the recovery stage to modernization. This clear signal should contribute to more active involvement of private business and stronger political support from EU member states. This vision is fully aligned with the values and strategic priorities of SUP.
In conclusion, the parties discussed Marta Kos’s upcoming visit to Ukraine, planned for late September – early October. For SUP, this is an excellent opportunity to deepen the partnership and continue effective cooperation to support Ukrainian entrepreneurs.
