As part of the project “Support for Business Leadership in Strengthening Economic Resilience and the Reconstruction of Ukraine ” (BLR II), supported by CIPE, a delegation of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs together with partners from CASE Ukraine worked in Washington last week.
The role of business during the war
The key event of the visit was an event at the Hudson Institute dedicated to the role of the Ukrainian private sector during the war and its importance for the country’s recovery. The discussion was practical and focused, with attention to how Ukrainian business is already adapting, investing, and creating the foundation for future growth. Special attention was given to examples of Ukrainian military-tech companies that demonstrate a high speed of innovation and effective solutions.
Today, these stories are already well known internationally and help build trust in Ukrainian business in general. We are proud of such cases among our members and see strong interest from American partners in cooperation with Ukrainian companies — not declarative, but focused on real opportunities.
Working meetings with key US institutions
During the visit, the SUP team presented the position of Ukrainian business and held working meetings with representatives of the US Department of State, the US Department of Commerce, the US Congress, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), as well as with the expert community in Washington. The focus was on the conditions for doing business in Ukraine, investment opportunities, risks, and the solutions that can reduce them.
Such visits are not only about dialogue, but also about gradually building trust and moving toward practical cooperation. The work started during this visit will continue, with a focus on concrete partnerships and creating additional opportunities for Ukrainian companies.
