About the project
As part of the Norway-Ukraine Building and Construction Hub project, implemented by the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs in partnership with SINTEF, a kick-off meeting with Norwegian partners took place.
The meeting marked the official launch of a two-year project aimed at exchanging knowledge and experience between Ukrainian and Norwegian companies, research centers, universities, and industry associations.
A kick-off is an initial working meeting during which partners get acquainted, present their organizations, align common goals, and form a plan for further work. It is from this meeting that systematic cooperation begins, setting the direction for the project’s development in the coming years.
New opportunities for Ukrainian businesses:
- Norwegian expertise in sustainable construction;
- digital planning and innovative materials;
- energy efficiency and climate adaptation.
The exchange of knowledge and best practices will contribute to the implementation of modern technologies in the process of rebuilding Ukraine, as well as the formation of new international connections.
The project will also facilitate the gradual integration of the Ukrainian construction sector into European standards — an important step toward Ukraine’s future membership in the EU.
During the meeting, the SUP Executive Director Kateryna Glazkova presented the Union’s activities and emphasized the challenges currently facing Ukraine’s construction sector amid full-scale war: from infrastructure destruction to the need for rapid modernization of the industry. She also highlighted the importance of support from international partners for Ukrainian businesses.
Next steps
In the future, the project plans to hold a series of joint events, training programs, and experience exchanges between Ukrainian and Norwegian participants. The first project activities will begin soon, and we will definitely provide more details about them.
We sincerely thank our Norwegian partners for their trust, support, and joint work on the reconstruction of Ukraine.
