Joint projects, participation in international tenders and reconstruction programmes — this was the focus of an online meeting between Ukrainian businesses and Italian companies EdilCo, Legnolandia and AI Engineering. The event marked another step toward establishing practical cooperation between entrepreneurs from both countries. The Italian partners stated that they are looking for Ukrainian companies for long-term projects, local implementation of solutions, and joint participation in infrastructure reconstruction.

Each of them presented the capabilities of their companies and outlined formats for potential cooperation with Ukrainian businesses.
Focus on engineering, infrastructure, and integrated solutions
AI Engineering presented its experience in engineering consulting and management of large infrastructure projects. The company has expertise in international tenders, about 200 engineers and technical specialists, experience working in Mediterranean and African countries, and expertise in the design of roads, bridges, water infrastructure, and buildings. A separate area of the company’s activity is hydraulic infrastructure and water resource management systems.
‘We are closely following the reconstruction process in Ukraine and want to join it together with local partners,’ Montaldo said.
EdilCo shared its experience in implementing construction and infrastructure solutions that can be integrated into the reconstruction process in Ukraine — from design to full support of the work. The company has been operating in the construction market for over 30 years and acts as a general contractor in projects in both the private and public sectors. The company’s areas of activity include residential construction, hospitals and schools, industrial facilities, data centres, airports, and restoration of historic buildings. The company also has certifications that allow it to work with historical heritage.
Special interest was drawn to Legnolandia, a company specializing in public space projects, urban landscaping, and municipal infrastructure solutions. Its experience is highly relevant for the restoration of communities and urban environments.
Ukrainian businesses presented their capabilities
During the meeting, Ukrainian companies also presented their areas of activity, production capacities, and experience working in wartime conditions. These included engineering, construction, materials production, logistics, and service support.
The online format of the meeting allowed participants to move from general presentations to substantive discussions:
— what specific competencies are needed by Italian partners;
— what projects can be implemented as early as 2026;
— what international tenders are open to consortia.
From acquaintance to consortiums
The key message from the Italian side is their readiness to create joint structures for participation in international financing programmes and tenders, particularly in projects related to the reconstruction of Ukraine. This is not just about subcontracting, but about partnership with a division of roles, responsibilities and expertise.
For Ukrainian companies, this means access to:
· European project expertise;
· international financial instruments;
· joint participation in major infrastructure initiatives.
Next steps
The online meeting was a starting point for further bilateral negotiations. As a result, the parties agreed to exchange detailed company profiles, hold separate B2B meetings and form potential consortia for specific projects.
Systematic international cooperation is not a declaration, but daily work. It is precisely such meetings that form a new architecture of partnerships in which Ukrainian business acts as an equal participant in European markets.
