Participants discussed both current economic challenges as well as potential challenges stemming from the war and global developments.
In particular, the focus by the Union members has been on the engineering and construction sectors which are:
- facing labor shortages,
- mobilization challenges and
- a complicated access to credit because of high interest rates.
Union members highlighted the demand for the “5-7-9%” program among representatives of the Ukrainian business community and the necessity of preserving such a tool for a wide range of potential recipients.
In addition, representatives of other relevant Committees of the Union addressed the systemic problem of the inefficiency of the current VAT administration system, while experts from the Union’s Analytical Center highlighted the recommendations to how to address those shortcomings.
The meeting was attended by representatives of all relevant committees of the Union, members of the Board of Directors and experts of the Union. The honest dialogue proved to be productive, and participants hope exchanges like this would make entrepreneurs’ views more visible and audible in further dialogues with all stakeholders.
