Today we discussed the implementation plan for the Project to Enhance Attractiveness of Amalgamated Hromadas for Business funded by the European Union and its member states (Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Poland and Sweden), its key stages, deadlines and expected results with project team and U-LEAD with Europe Programme directors.
First of all, Tetiana Palamarchuk, Acting Director of SUP, spoke on why this project was important to the Union:
“SUP’s strategy for 2019 is enhanced development of entrepreneurship in regions. We believe that this idea should be implemented through cooperation with local AHs. SUP wants to make entrepreneurs understand that setting up enterprises at local level is not only necessary, but possible, too, and that representatives of local AHs are interested in cooperation and transparent activity.”
“It is crucial for business to be sure that 60% of personal income tax remain in hromadas. That is why, hromadas will be interested in creating favourable business conditions,” added Benedikt Herrmann, First Secretary, Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.
According to the Acting Director of SUP, the project will be implemented in two stages:
1. studying of local entrepreneurship (through online and in-depth surveying of entrepreneurs)
2. organisation of local AH economic growth trainings with the involvement of SUP and U-LEAD experts for raising local authorities’ awareness of business development mechanisms and practical experience in business project engagement.
Main objective of the project is to improve AH capabilities and role in local economic growth, to create favourable business environment and enhance attractiveness of AHs for business.
The first survey within the project commenced on 20 February. SUP members and representatives of regional associations may participate in the survey.
