The Association of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs has been advocating for the protection of honest and transparent Ukrainian businesses since its inception, providing public support and professional legal assistance to domestic entrepreneurs.
The Business Protection Center under the SUP project was established in February 2022, and on May 24, 2023, its experts gathered to review their progress and discuss future plans.
Here are some details:
In 2022, the Business Protection Center reviewed 62 inquiries from SUP participants. They successfully resolved 43 cases, preserving business assets worth 19.636 billion UAH.
Since the beginning of 2023, the BPC has already received 30 inquiries from members of the association, with 16 cases already resolved, either fully or partially in favor of the companies.
The Center also regularly provides recommendations for the most common business-related issues, such as:
- Recommendations for recording losses
- Guidelines on risk assessment and blocking tax invoices
Official authorities in Ukraine and the EU have implemented SUP initiatives aimed at improving business conditions, including:
- The General Prosecutor of Ukraine approving Standards of Activity for Prosecutors in the Field of Investment Protection during Pre-trial Investigation
- Official clarifications published by the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services, and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) of the European Commission regarding common issues in international trade with companies operating in regions partially occupied by the Russian Federation.
The participants of the Business Protection Center hold regular meetings with members of the association to discuss problems and provide recommendations to companies. Some of the topics covered include:
- Practical recommendations for managers on avoiding the blocking of tax invoices at their companies
How to minimize the risks of accumulating accounts receivable and what to do when debts already exist, including advice on enforcement proceedings. - -The Business Protection Center is preparing useful information for association members regarding business inspection procedures and meetings with government authorities.
