A press breakfast with leading Polish media took place in Warsaw on July 9 on the occasion of the opening of SUP’s European office! At the meeting with Polish journalists, the Executive Director of SUP, Kateryna Glazkova, discussed the priorities of the Union’s European office and the plans of Ukrainian businesses in Europe. She also explained how the Union plans to become a hub between Ukrainian and European companies.
“Of course, Ukrainian companies are entering the European market and competing with European ones, but this fight for the consumer must be fair. Besides risks, we see great opportunities for cooperation in various fields, and SUP will become a guide to trustworthy Ukrainian companies with which joint projects can be created,” emphasized Kateryna Glazkova.
During the meeting, the following topics were also discussed:
- Risks for Polish businesses and the impact of Ukraine’s movement towards the EU on the Polish economy
- Myths about allegedly low-quality products from Ukraine, oligarchic influence, and job reductions in Poland due to Ukrainians
- Lobbying for market liberalization to restore capacities through small generation
- Opportunities to apply the experience of Polish companies in the energy sector
- The most attractive areas for investment and cooperation
- A positive review on the value of such meetings is essential, as they allow the Polish audience to hear the voice of Ukrainian
business.
“I hope that SUP will become a reliable source of information for Polish media and a communicator between Polish and Ukrainian businesses,” noted Kateryna Glazkova.
Recall that on June 25, 2024, it was announced that negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU had begun. This involves bilateral meetings on 35 points with each of the EU countries, including Poland. Symbolically, around this time, the Union opened its European office in Warsaw, as Poland is one of Ukraine’s most important European partners and Ukrainian businesses.
The movement of our country towards the EU will be accompanied by the gradual deepening of economic cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union. Naturally, questions of competition and other business risks arise. However, there are also wide opportunities for partnership between companies from our two countries.
SUP, as the largest business association in Ukraine, is open to dialogue for the most effective interaction on the path to European integration.
