On December 7-9, the “World for Ukraine” (W4UA) summit was held, where representatives of central and local authorities, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, businesses, think tanks and mass media, both from Ukraine and from around the world, took part. The event is designed to discuss humanitarian, social and economic issues that correspond to Ukraine’s most urgent current needs and long-term challenges; remind about the need to support Ukraine and invest in it.
The Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs also took part in this important event. During the high-level panel discussion “Keeping Ukraine in Business”, Tetyana Palamarchuk, Deputy Executive Director of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, addressed the audience. “Ukrainian business knows how to adapt, and even difficult challenges do not stop our entrepreneurs. In addition, they not only continue to work, but also help the population as much as possible…. But the business is not only trying to survive – it is ready to move on and develop. The course on the integration of the Ukrainian and European markets continues, we are ready to apply European standards in our work. In addition, the prospect of EU membership will be an important driver of reforms and increased interest in European work practices,” she said.
Also, on behalf of the Union, Tetyana Palamarchuk emphasized the need to continue close business cooperation with the international community: “One of the important steps of support for our business is the so-called “visa-free” regimes from the EU: energy, transport, customs, economic. In the future, it will also be digital. Cancellation of import duties and quotas for Ukrainian products by the EU, Great Britain, the US and Canada; establishing connections and finding partners through international platforms — all these solutions are a powerful incentive for our entrepreneurs to work at full strength further. Therefore, it is important for us that these decisions and initiatives carry on.”
