On September 21, members of the SUP made a company visit to the headquarters of Winner Group Ukraine. Winner is known for importing such automobile brands as Ford, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, Bentley. The company is interesting not only for its products, corporate traditions, but also for its history. And it began in 1992. Winner became the first to “put” Ukrainians in American cars – Ford (the first Winner company, registered in Ukraine). In addition, the company is the only importer in Ukraine that invests in its own PDI-center, where a pre-sale car preparation takes place, thus, over the past 10 years, fifty dealers receive spare parts for the company’s cars, it has own paint shop. Winner has invested more than $120 million in the infrastructure, including a dealer network.
During the visit, the SUP members had a unique opportunity to personally communicate with the Chairman of the Board Petro Rondyak. They talked a lot about the future of the industry, company principles, corporate training of employees, problems with cars with European number plates. Mr. Rondyak predicts:
“Electric car is a good answer to the fact that Ukrainians care about the environment. In seven years they will be in Ukraine, of course the changes will not be too massive: for this, we need to adjust the infrastructure”.
People here are the main asset. Employees study at Winner Corporate Leadership Development College and have access to a fitness center on the territory of the head office.
Since the company was founded by the Americans of Ukrainian origin, love for the Motherland and people is felt in everything that Winner makes – from the interior, paintings on the walls to the social projects that the company implements. The founders brought their experience, Western business model and successfully implemented it on the Ukrainian market.
