The Ministry of Justice and the State Archive Service of Ukraine have successfully implemented a pilot project aimed at introducing an electronic archive and creating suitable conditions for the permanent storage of electronic documents from the National Archive Fund and state electronic information resources. Now, searching for archival documents will only require a few minutes and a few clicks.
What benefits will businesses gain?
Companies will finally be able to eliminate paper documents and the expenses associated with their preservation. Practically all businesses with hired employees will experience advantages, as existing legislation requires the prolonged retention of personnel records for employees. Additionally, companies that provide electronic document management and digital signature services will benefit from the implementation of the electronic archive.
As a reminder, the introduction of electronic services and the transition of interactions between the government and businesses into a digital format is one of the significant initiatives of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP). The obstacle on this path was the lack of electronic document storage capabilities, necessitating duplication in paper format. Therefore, even before the war, SUP advocated for the creation of an electronic archive.
SUP experts participated in over a dozen meetings, working groups, and discussions involving the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice, and the State Archive Service. Member companies of the Information and Communication Committee of SUP initiated a series of appeals to each of the aforementioned institutions, urging them to begin work on creating an electronic archive.
The Union expresses gratitude to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine for their support and implementation of business initiatives. Special thanks also go to the Chairman of the Information and Communication Committee of SUP, Oleksandr Vernyhora, for his proactive stance in realizing this project.
As reported by the State Archive Service of Ukraine, the next step will involve developing methodological recommendations and conducting consultations regarding the usage of the e-Archive.
