The approval of the Strategy is part of Ukraine’s commitments under the Ukraine Facility initiative and a key step towards European integration.
The implementation of the Strategy will serve as a tool for modernising the labour market in line with European standards and an important step in preparing for EU accession.
By 2030, the number of employed persons is expected to increase by 2 million and unemployment to fall to 9.9%, which should strengthen economic stability and bring Ukraine closer to the criteria for EU membership.

To achieve the targets set out in the document, six key objectives of state policy in the field of employment have been outlined, including

Ensuring the timely satisfaction of employers’ demand for labour and the digital transformation of the labour market.
Aligning the results of the education and vocational training system with the current and projected demand of employers.
Ensuring socio-economic inclusion and removing barriers to employment.
Promoting formal employment and ensuring decent wages.
Strengthening the institutional capacity of the labour market.
Harmonising the employment and occupational safety system with the EU acquis with a view to integrating Ukraine into the European Union labour market.

Representatives of the SUP participated in the development of the Strategy.
